LOCUS PORTAL CORPORATION JOINS FORCES WITH MOBILE ARTS

Locus Portal and Mobile Arts launched a strategic partnership to thrust the companies' strong position in the mobile location technology market

Helsinki, Finland, Stockholm, Sweden, August 16, 2004 - Locus Portal Corporation (Locus Portal) announced that Locus Portal has entered into a strategic product partnership with Mobile Arts AB (Mobile Arts). The agreement between the two companies is a broad partnership that will involve a transfer of product and technology development responsibility of all mobile positioning products of Locus Portal to Mobile Arts. The companies have successfully co-operated since 2002, having together several commercial deployments of mobile positioning systems, including Netcom, Norway and Mobile TeleSystems (MTS), the largest mobile operator in Russia and Eastern Europe with more than 22 million subscribers.

As a result of the agreement, all product and technology development including technical customer support shall be provided by Mobile Arts. Locus Portal concentrates on marketing and distributing the solutions worldwide.

"The transaction will provide us even more technical capabilities and competence, that are needed in the highly competitive mobile location market", says Mr. Samuel Salmenlinna, the CEO of Locus Portal. "We are pleased with the long experience of Mobile Arts' personnel with the leading GSM network vendors". This will ensure the competitiveness of our mobile product line long in the future, with the new opportunities such as A-GPS (assisted GPS).

CEO of Mobile Arts Mr. Peter Sjögren said: "We are more than pleased with the decision of Locus Portal to fully partner with Mobile Arts as their product and technology development provider. This is another proof that Mobile Arts provides world class product and technology development services that help other organizations to reduce their product development costs and gain competitive advantage."

According to the CTO of Locus Portal, Mr Tero Heinonen, leveraging Mobile Arts' unique talent pool radically shortens the time-to-market for new location products. "Mobile Arts' Telecom Kernel is an unparallel product in terms of its flexibility and reliability for any 2G, 2.5G and 3G appliance. The full integration of our technologies will unlock a new generation of services and applications that combine locating mobile users with advanced messaging capabilities.
